Since then pots and potter have matured. Now he makes straight forward pots with affinity, love and intuition and an easy relaxed economy of both movement and thought. The simple decorative motifs are powerful, living, meaning filled symbols of the world. Expressive graphical images of the essential beingness of the things represented. His beautiful Vestals, their forms and decoration, are the fruit of the very human urge to create that cannot be suppressed by him any more than can song or dance by others. Paul has fought a bitterly costly titanic struggle against all odds to bring this beautiful Koryo dynasty like ware into existence. There is no doubt about its real historical and artistic significance. The waiting has passed. The pain has passed. Now he quietly enjoys creating his Vestals. You too can enjoy them. But be quick.
